Injection molding, also known as injection molding, is a kind of injection and molding method. Injection molding method has the advantages of fast production speed, high efficiency, automatic operation, color varieties, shape can be from simple to complex, size can be from large to small, and the product size is accurate, products are easy to update, can be shaped into complex parts, injection molding is suitable for mass production and shape complex products and other molding processing fields.
At a certain temperature, through the screw stirring completely molten plastic material, with high pressure into the mold cavity, after cooling and curing, the molding product is obtained. This method is suitable for mass production of complex parts and is one of the important machining methods.
Type of injection mold:
Because the injection mold use is very large, and the application field is different, so the classification is more complex. According to the molding characteristics, it can be divided into thermosetting injection mold and thermoplastic injection mold. According to the molding process, it can be divided into transmission mold, blow mold, casting mold, hot forming mold, hot pressing mold and injection mold.
Injection mold temperature control:
⒈ Cylinder temperature: The temperature that needs to be controlled in the injection molding process includes cylinder temperature, nozzle temperature and mold temperature. The first two temperatures mainly affect plasticization and flow of plastics, while the latter temperature mainly affects flow and cooling of plastics. Each kind of plastic has a different flow temperature, the same kind of plastic, due to the source or grade is different, its flow temperature and decomposition temperature is different, this is due to the average molecular weight and molecular weight distribution is different, plastic in different types of injection machine plasticization process is different, so the selection of cylinder temperature is not the same.
The nozzle temperature: the nozzle temperature is usually slightly lower than the highest temperature of the barrel, this is to prevent the melting in the straight nozzle may occur "salivation phenomenon". The temperature of the nozzle can not be too low, otherwise it will cause the early solidification of the molten material and the nozzle will be blocked, or the performance of the product will be affected by the injection of the early solidification material into the mold cavity.
⒊ Mold temperature: the temperature of the mold has a great influence on the internal performance and apparent quality of the product. The mold temperature depends on the crystallinity of the plastic, the size and structure of the product, the performance requirements, and other process conditions (molten temperature, injection speed and injection pressure, molding cycle, etc.).
Injection mold application:
Most plastic products are produced by the production of injection moulds. For many companies, injection moulds are essential equipment for the production of various plastic products. The products produced by injection mold have the advantages of light quality, high strength, good toughness, corrosion resistance, good insulation, easy coloring, easy molding and low cost, so they have been widely used and won people's love and favor. Nowadays, these plastic products have entered people's lives and are inseparable from people's production and life. With the rapid development of plastic industry, plastic products have been greatly promoted and applied in various industrial sectors such as aviation, electronics, machinery, automobiles and daily life. It can be said that plastic parts have penetrated into various sectors of the national economy, the trend of plastic parts has been strengthened, and the emergence of plastic products, in many aspects has become a substitute for metal products. Whether in improving productivity, ensuring product quality, or in reducing costs, reduce labor intensity, injection mold has great advantages.
